What about Bart Bass being revealed as alive in Season 5 of Gossip Girl. That was a hell of a plot twist. I remember watching that episode when it aired live and being in literal shock. I couldn't believe it. Bart Bass had been dead for years.

Bart Bass being alive changed Season 5 because there were a lot of things to consider now that he was alive. For instance, Lily's marriage to Rufus. Bart being revealed as alive, completely invalidated their marriage. Lily and Rufus weren't legally married because Bart never died.

Also Bart Bass being alive allowed him to regain control or Bass Industries and Bart kicked Jack Bass and Chuck out of the company, even though they had been running the company since Bart's "death"
