2 Clicks Out: Kawasaki Z H2 Supercharger Suspension Setup

Motorcycles are just too darn slow these days. Kawasaki solved the problem during a lunch break last year by mounting a supercharger to an engine they had laying around the shop, then stuck it in a leftover trellis frame from the storage shed. They grabbed some Ninja 650 suspension bits out of the bin and, poof, the Z H2 naked liter bike super slayer. What a time to be alive! Flying saucers are next.

I'd...very much like to sit next to Dave all day long at the race track, see him do his thing, absorb all that knowledge and have a good laugh at the same time. Really envious on you guys living in Cali, all sorts of tracks, canyons, ton of bikes and bikers...AND Dave, you got it all!

I own a zh2, rear shock is terrible.
I got an ohlins ready to go. Also could benefit from steel braided and of couse an ecu tune would not hurt.

I just like seeing Dave do his thing - even though I will probably never to bother to fiddle with the suspension settings on my own bike

I could watch Dave all day long...he is the grandmaster of suspension.

"no wheelies, I promise... *

Thats a promise you can't make on a ZH2. I overtook a car in third yesterday and the front came up just on the power, and mine is stock lol

Yes rear shock is ordinary. Had my std suspension set up by a shop which was ok for a little bit. Ive just recently upgraded rear suspension to a Nitron setup. As you said, 2000 miles and the std shock was toast.

So Kawasaki made a bad ass motorcycle that lets put it mildly isn't the cheapest thing out there. Then took a shock that really at that price point is really taking the piss, so when you really need stability the bike wants to throw you down the road. WOW thank you KHI.

wish he would travel to the east coast. would love to watch him and have him do my suspension. remote tuning is just not the same experience

are the current models more well-equipped? the site shows it having a fully adjustable sff-bp in the front which is nothing to sneeze at. the rear seems a little disappointing with only rebound adjustability. the SE is fully adjustable front and rear though, but the same components at heart.

Is it the same with the electronic suspension?

How does that frame handle the horsepower?

been fighting with my H2 SX/SE at the track. Forks bottom out when getting on the brakes hard after a long straight, even with max preload. Talked to a few suspension guru's and watching your videos. Went with stiffer fork springs, better but still bottoms out. While i do want to prevent bottoming out at the track, scared it will ruin the ride-ability on the street if i go with a even stiffer spring.

Any hope for someone 6'3" and almost 300lb riding the ZH2 mostly on nasty roads?
(I meant bike adjustments, not diet tips!)

The new model with electronic adjustment needs to be adjusted too?

Dave use to say, "tune your bike with all your gear on"
