Ron Klain, you just became my hero. Us grown men don't often enough articulate how important our mothers were to us.

From the first time I saw Ron Klain, a few years ago, I was so impressed by his calm demeanour, his experience, his political sense, and professionalism, and was thrilled when he became WH Chief of Staff for Pres Biden, after the madness of Mick Mulvaney and Mark Meadows, 2 complete nonces, with no idea of how to carry out that essential job. I remember feeling that with Ron Klain, we were in a safe pair of hands - no drama, no chaos, no conspiracy theories and a respect for the Constitution and the law. Very sad when he left the WH.
But what was so moving in this interview, was his emotion at his mother's recent passing. We saw the personal side of Mr Klain, and it was touching.
One of the undersung, behind the scenes public servants in whom one can see a seasoned political operative, of vast experience and good sense.

Ahh, now I know why Ron stepped down, to spend those last few weeks with his mom. That’s incredibly touching. I’ve just read that he flew to and from Indianapolis every Sunday for months to see him mom. Genuinely lovely man.

Wow what a tearjerker at the end of this interview. No matter who we are, how old we get, our mothers always have our hearts. I almost lost my mother at the end of November of last year due to a brain tumor. Thank God, she survived the very serious surgery she had at the age of 71; just thinking about the idea of losing her is unfathomable. To see Mr. Klain get emotional when speaking about his recently departed mother and how much she meant to him tugs at your heartstrings.
