I’m a Creative Writing major headed into my last year of undergrad. I have been afraid to graduate and head into a career/next season of life. This summer I have been thinking about going to law school because of the prestige, more school, and financial stability. I found your account while researching this whole process. But everything you said about why you’re leaving law school is how I am feeling about applying. Thank you so much for this! Brought me clarity!

This is very refreshing to hear. Not because I'm thinking about the same thing, but because you're willing to expose yourself like this to the world. So much of our lives are about hitting that next goal and "finishing what you start", but sometimes "finishing what you started" is far more damaging than letting it go. Being at peace in your mind about what you want and who you are is far more important than doing something just because you knew you could and not because you should. So happy for you choosing you!

I’ve been spiraling out of control. I can’t sleep at night, as a first generation, low income and the oldest there is so much pressure. Law school has always been on my mind but lately also nursing. I worry too much on not being able to retire my family or myself and I also don’t want to feel like I’m running out of time in life. I also don’t want to look back and regret not pursing my passion for film, acting and YouTube. I can relate to a lot of what you said, and I truly admire your resilience. You are glowing girl and I’m so proud of you for following your heart💗💗💗💗💗

Im really proud of you for realizing this! I have a similar story. In undergrad I was pre law. Post grad, during my gap year, I was getting ready to start studying for the lsat. I kept pushing it off. I could not bring myself to study. I was so frustrated with myself for not being on top of studying and then I started questioning why? Why am I putting this off endlessly? I realized that is not at all what I want to do with my time. I am applying for MSW programs in the following months! This feels so much more exciting and aligns with my interests.
