I dont know why people are so surprised, japanese music has been always amazing and they literally dominated before kpop, city-pop says hi. The only reason they didnt globalize was because they didnt promote much especially for overseas fans, they were mostly kept for Japan entertainment industry, (japanese websites), hopefully in a future China will do the same
