The gaslighting is too on point where it's scary.
Especially when Maia pretends to empathize with Sasha showing her specific experiences with dysfunctional relationships then directly instilling "common sense" in her by insulting her. Gaslighting works efficiently, especially with people like Sasha who want something, so desperately they'll do anything which makes room for manipulators in their vulnerable space to pretend. To pretend to be empathetic so the victim will be more inclined in their debt to do whatever it is that they want from said victim.
Not to mention, the scene where Maia shows a vision of Sasha, manipulating her of the promise of getting the twisted recognition she had been longing for so long tops the cake. Sasha looks star struck but then reluctant, which showcases that she wants this, but is it really worth going THAT far to be cruel to get to the top?
It shows her humanizing traits, which I like to think Maia purposefully strings out knowing she can manipulate them to the finest so that she would be able to persuade her more and pretend to emphasize like I mentioned. She knows of Loretta's strained relationship with Sasha so she used that to her advantage. Make her scared and vulnerable as she ripped apart the vision's model's arm from her elbow socket and head to her neck, like a parent scaring the child to make them small and learn their lesson so that the parent can take on that opening so that child will behave.
And then they bribe them, like what Maia bribes Sasha. It hits close to home in a cold way and I love it.

Idk about anyone else but I find the expression at 2:52 one of the most compelling things in the video. It give me more questions than I have answers, like “does she not actually like her daughter?” Or “does she consider the girl more a tool rather than her child?”.

i love this!! i dont know much abt your characters but i love what youve done with them in this animatic. The character designs are so dynamic and recognizable. You could really feel the inner turmoil going on in each character, and the contrast in their mannerisms is so so good

This animatic gives me such “Evil Friend Like Me” vibes. The constant growing and shrinking of Maida, the illusion magic to show Sasha the future, is very reminiscent of the Genie. I can’t help but replay it, it’s very well made.
