I feel like many people forget the most important thing about rocket league : it's a fun game.
You can have fun no matter your rank or your skill, enjoy it. Once you're GC and can do almost everything it is possible to do, you'll sometimes think back and miss the days when a nice redirect made you so proud of yourself.
Just like childhood compared to adulthood, don't be in a rush to grow up and enjoy.

You: most of your ranks will be around 2 ranks behind your 1s rank
Me: Diamond in 3s and doubles, silver in solo

So Fluump, basically what you're saying is you are going to invite me into 3s matches with you and sunless? Thanks bro!

The advice in this video mimics a LOT of content on YouTube already, so I'm going to summarize a 10 minute video here.

1. Create a Schedule. (Set time aside so you consistently improve)
2. Focus on Training. (Playing games isn't enough; also focus on specific packs for skills)
3. Play 1v1. (Each play means so much more, so you won't go for stupid plays)
3.5. Watch your own replays. (Observe what you're doing wrong so you can focus on it when you're training)
4. Play with better players.
5. Get help. (Hire a coach from GamersRdy)

Schedule ? I work 12 hours a day almost and then come back home to sleep.

Almost all of these tips sound directed to people who have loads of free time.

I've been playing rocket league around 8 months and I am Diamond 3 in 2s/3s. Reflecting on how quickly I've improved, the main thing that set me apart from my friends was that I spent the same amount of time each day playing games as I did learning new skills in either freeplay or training packs.

I also had a habit of reaching a new rank, and then straight away googling some of the mechanics expected at the rank above mine, and learning how to do them. For example, right now I'm focusing on flip resets, because that is a champ level skill.

What’s the best way to improve air car control without workshops ??

I am silver 2 currently and have reached gold. I bought this game under three months ago. I am trying to improve daily and this video has motivated me to train more rather than just jump into ranked games.

I believe it will be a long process until I get into gold again, but I’m not giving up.

In just a month of playing with a silver 1, he ended last season at plat 3 and deserved to be there.
Similar story a few seasons back with someone who is now champ.
Id suggest everyone find a player to play a few games a week with, 1v1 with, train. It's awesome knowing you've helped someone rise significantly faster.

Maybe you can do a video on how to improve car movement? Just an idea

Edit: like when and how to perfect air roll or something

Playing with higher players is awesome. I train people to get to mid-end diamond. Normaly i play 1v1 with them and totaly outpace/skill them. After 3 matches (ofc you need to slow down sometimes and fake and stuff) you see an improvement of them. It feels like they jump a full elo higher

I went from gold 1 to diamond 2 in 2s from March to today. The number 1 thing that helped me was freeplay and mastering simple things like backboard clears, corner clears, wall to air dribbles, and basic ball control. On top of that playing a shit ton of ones definitely helped. I'm almost at 500 hours and I feel confident that within the next 500 I'll be grand champ.

No joke i tried all of these and I went from bronze to platinum in a month and jeez catching up with you was a struggle my man... but this video inspired me well done

Honestly just stuck to free play and constantly practicing custom training shots MULTIPLE times. Also always try to find players higher than your rank, it’s so much easier to play at a higher rank especially if you’ve been practicing because those things you practice will come into play more often.

YOU! YES YOU!! The guy that’s stuck in a rank that he can’t get out of and watching tutorials, STOP, JUST STOP! There is no short cuts here if you want to improve stop watching useless tutorials ( am not talking about fluump am talking about everyone ) just stop watching useless tutorials and start working on your mechanics so you start knowing were do you need to improve, and yes i know that you try and it’s hard but you need time in this game we all do, so don’t make that stop you from achieving your dream! You are great i believe in you because some where down there a grand champion in us all but that guy need time and effort to get out so you better not give up on him cuz he’s/she’s waiting for you so get out there and show them who you really are!

Hardcore Training right here: When I was gold 3, I had a free week, but I was out alot but my weekend was free. so on the whole weekend I didn't leave training, so I did it for around 18-20 hrs altogether. I then played ranked by myself and went to diamond 1. however, now I've reached diamond 3/champ 1, it doesn't work so much anymore, cuz teamates who don't put in the time like I did aren't as fast and experienced etc. Higher the ranks it's about your team plays, not you as a player. I've played some 1s and that did help but eventually I got bored so I messed about in ranked and lost diamond 3 but I still reckon I've improved, is that possible?

"If you find yourself not wanting to do something, it probably means you need to do that more than anything" This video is full of amazing quotes that apply to more than just rocket league. Just earned yourself a sub and a like. keep up the good work!

So I got the game in February and I have just over 300 hours of actual play time and I am currently champ 2 in 3’s and bordering on champ 2 in 2’s. The only reason I got so good so fast is two of my friends are grand champ and they have spent and insane amount of time coaching me and helping me improve by going through replays and telling me what it is I need to improve on next. So I would completely agree that the best way to get better is to play against better players! Honestly a very well thought out and accurate video flummp!!
