Update May 2024: We have flown an electric prototype and done a bunch of ground testing of the engine, aerodynamics, avionics and structure. Main Kingfisher will fly in July. We have 4 videos recorded and awaiting editing for a regular upload schedule over the summer, first video is imminent - WE HAVE A LOT TO SHARE!

At 600 mph, using the most advanced rc technology known to man, he will be outside radio range in about 40 seconds. Giving him just over 30 seconds to reach top speed, slow down, and turn around before he can no longer safely land the aircraft.

I hope you succeed, but the fastest r/c DS glider is way faster than 465 mph, and that has no engine. To me, that's what ya gotta beat... but i'm not the cops or the book of world records...

Got a long way to go. The fastest radio controlled Gas Turbine powered plane was the North American X-10 at Mach 2.05 in the late 1950's. The fastest r/c plane was the Ram Jet powered Lockheed X-7 at Mach 4.3.

Maybe it has already been done? In October 1948, an unmanned 30% scale M52 reached Mach 1.38 in stable level flight. Not sure how it was controled

Have you consulted with the FCC? By the time you send a command to turn the aircraft around it could easily be out of range and a hazard for folks on the ground.
