Injuries to James Hume and Cian Healy compounded a disappointing start to the summer tour for Ireland as they lost 32-17 to the Māori All Blacks in Hamilton despite a better 2nd half performance #TeamofUs #ShoulderToShoulder #NZvIRE

I'm not surprised, when I saw the team sheets I was pretty sure we'd lose.
These were two scratch sides. Only 3 players starting from Ireland had more than 10 caps and 5 were on debut, the Māori had similar. But our team strengths are built from structure and knowing systems, NZ teams are the opposite and can rely on individual skills being superior so it just makes sense that the free flowing team can look good with less preparation.

Irish no.8 is an absolute weapon. Big future for that bloke and also the young MAB blindside flanker, he was very impressive with/without ball.

Kiaora our Irish friends! Ireland looked dangerous at times and I felt that they were actually the better team, they had lots of firepower up front and in the early exchanges our boys struggled to get over the advantage line (kept gtg knocked back) luckily for us the ref kept pinging Ireland for offsides so kind of made the Irish boys second guess things instead of going for it, Irelands forwards also looked very powerful and physical and also better organised early on, but as the pace of the game wore on and calls went against them, and the Maori forwards stubbornly weathered, then countered and then gained ascendancy, they lost the structure and focus they had early on, the Maori forwards had a basic gameplan but their performance was all heart last night, our lineouts were good too and we're proud of them, the Irish got in their own way, dropped passes, a lack of composure and discipline at times, these all added up to frustrate what I felt was a team brimming with potential, power and ability just below the surface. The other factor apart from the Maori fwds scrapping to provide a base for the backs was just Maori style rugby from the backs (& the forwards linking up), audacious, skillfull, precocious, fast, risky at times (and also fiesty - ala young Zarn Sullivan) - proud of our Maori boys but the problem of how to counter Irish strategy and intensity remains for the All Blacks who will be meeting the A team on Saturday - kia piki te ora ki nga turoro (I hope the injured Irish boys get better soon) kia pai te whakataetae hei te hatarei nei, tena karawhiua Airani! (all the best Ireland for Saturday, go hard!) - (I still want our boys to win tho, gone are the days when Ireland get a free pass from me as one of two teams (Wales) I dont mind so much if they beat our ABs, youve become too good, and now I want our boys to beat you well and in style - a testament to the fact that youre a formidable 1st tier rugby nation now - go ABs, nga mihinui ki te kapa Maori, poho kereru ana te nanakia nei ;)

Good match. Both teams playing some exciting rugby. Beating the ABs is looking tough from here.

Aki is a fine rugby player. Our loss Irelands gain. Ireland a little unlucky I thought and certainly will be dangerous at full strength.

Irish forwards were making some easy meters in contact, but the handling and patience just weren't there. I thought if they'd been a bit more conservative they had a pack that could have ramped up the pressure on the Maoris with their carrys and forced them into a real arm wrestle. Handling errors and failed miracle passes really let the MABs off the hook at key times. Without an effective maul though, that Ireland selection is missing a key weapon that would almost guarantee victory in their second midweek game against the Maori. Hoping for a dry track as it will add another different dimension to the rematch that will be interesting to watch.

That was a real burner, full credit to maori ab's showed ireland how it's done from minute one. I-mean this can't be the kind of attitude when you bring the best 40+ man squad over and play like a horses ass for the first 50mins (i rlly don't care if it's an A, B or C side) That was awful a complete whimper compared to the ferocity & dog we saw back in March, April and the 1st half of May. The last 6 weeks have been utter shambles, first Leinster can't score in a final when it matters then Ulster and co. each butcher a winable semi-final and now this.. Slipping.

I understand that this is a B team but come on!. I love Farrell & yeah it wasn't a land slide but it was a drop away from been one. I thought they would bring it as in win. secondly, I was expecting them to win by a decent margin. A lot of the Maori team have not played test rugby either, they just play their hearts out in Super rugby. As for jet lag... OK, that's why we lost to Ireland & France last year - Nah mate, We lost because we were not up to it. We offer no excuse except to improve and hopefully win against Ireland in the up coming Tests.

Why does Irish Rugby TV have a log me in session pop up open and why is the bitrate absolutely crushed, Is this an official or fan channel?

If Ireland scored of their chances it would of been a different game really. Loose play killed them.

A lot of empty seats in the stadium. Prices too high, or interest too low?

Way to go MABs, i think the next game will be a hell of lot different ... Ireland will regroup and come out wanting revenge and thats how it should Be, Just like the ABs this week end, they`ll be wanting revenge for last years loss ... Dont count the Irish out, they`ll find their form
