We wanted to shoot a quick video explaining what you should expect from your first track day. It can be intimidating if you have never been to track before so we wanted to make this video to help ease peoples minds on what is required and hopefully motivate some to go out and track their own car!

My first track day was in the summer of 2001. I had a bone stock 97 Jetta Trek with the NA 2.0. I had a new set of Cooper tires and HR Cup Kit. I might have had newer pads and rotors. The best advice they gave me at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course was that technique gets better lap times than horsepower. Knowing the line and the correct braking points for your car separate the drivers from the hacks. It took me 3 seasons to Max out what that car could do.

Thanks for posting. I've never been to a track so this was very helpful.

A lot of that sounds like autocross. I haven’t tracked my car but being used to the solo 2 process sounds like a good prep.

How much does your average track day cost you especially if it's your first time

If you ever get a chance, can you please shoot a video on how to drill out a stuck/broken plastic license plate bolts? Thanks!

5:30 Way to insult Miata drivers lol. I like the looks of the MX5 & newer Miatas.

I would imagine regular all season tires would be a limiting factor?

I moved to Germany, bought a 1 series Coupe in cash, & the Nürburgring is on my to do list. Flying down the Autobahn at 130mph+

I was considering a C5 Vette but gas prices are jacked up in the EU. Good thing Trump pulled out that Paris climate BS. None of that nonsense in Murica.
