If you use copper grease on the threads the torque wrench will over tighten and possibly strip threads...I've always done up hand tight then half a turn never had a problem with leaks or coming loose if you do you use a torque wrench then a 1/4 on small bolts...👍

My 2018 1200 Custom has Mid Controls. Have to remove the Peg first. Best to use a Wheel Chock. And a Jack to support the rear. As there is about 50 Pounds Torque on the 2 bolts. And has an O-Ring. Not a Gasket like yours.

nice derby cover. A torque wrench should be used holding at the middle of the handle only. Holding it at the middle of the wrench like you did would have decreased the torque value.

Take it apart and put it back together the way came apart duh it's no harder than changing a lightbulb
