*UPDATE* - Reolink has troubleshoot my issue on responding to the notification and not opening the live view. It is a time sync issue. I synced the doorbells time to my phone when I initially set it up but when I added it to my NVR, which its time was off (late ~ 6 mins) it synced its time to my NVR. (I now have turned ON my NVR to automatically synced to the server). Now, when you respond to the notification, it will open up the live view.

You seem very knowledgeable and thorough with your testing. I purchased a reolink 8 camera with NVR system about 2 years ago and have been waiting for a doorbell. your videos were instrumental in my choice of brands. I am pleased with my system.

Audio is Good . 20 fps is good, Night Vision Good, Rich Notifications Great Features as well as Time Lapse and Pre recorded Replies is more advance than the Ring ! Plus your dirty Harry Reply was funny and awesome ! Reolink is getting amazin !

LifeHackster....your reviews are the best! I'm considering switching from the old Ring Pro to the Reolink WiFi doorbell camera. I have a question for From your reviews, I know that I cannot use my existing chime doorbell and will probably have to use the chime that comes with the Reolink. My current Ring Pro doorbell came with a Ring Pro Power adapter that must be used for my chime doorbell to work. I'm wondering if using that adapter in conjunction with the Reolink doorbell would allow me to use my existing chime doorbell. Thanks again for your reviews!

So is the power adapter required? Or are your pre-existing doorbell wires sufficient to make it work? If the power adapter is required, how do did you install it? Didn’t see that in the video. Let us know. Thank you.

I'm deciding between POE or wifi version, but POE doesn't have rich notifications. What I'm looking at with POE:
- if I'm at home and someone rings, will I get notification on my phone?
- if I'm away from home and someone rings, will I get notifications?

I dont need pre-recordings (I will record everything to my DVR though)

Can’t wait for your video on how to add Ethernet wiring to your doorbell setup! This was the one thing I forgot to spec when I built my new house, and I regret not doing it. There’s not much info out there on how to DIY run your own cable through the walls and to the doorbell, so looking forward to having you show us how to do it!

Looks like you forgot to take the blue tape off of the thermal adhesive when you installed.

if it had the ability to tie into an existing chime like the other doorbells, it would be perfect. A downward facing package cam wouldnt be bad either.

@LifeHackster outstanding review! I needed clarification as to whether the wifi version supports recording to a Neolink NVR without a network cable, i.e.over wifi, and found you answered that it does not need the network cable in the comments below. Can't wait to get it up and running. Thank you!

I hope they come with a solar version. I have 5 solar wifi Reolink cameras, i have one in my back door and another on the front. I'm renting at a house and there isn't any wiring by the doors.

If you intregrate this doorbell with Home Assistant you can make your own rich notifications, no subscription needed!!! I've ordered this doorbell, can't wait to get it.

Just picked up the Wi-Fi version off Amazon. I've had it less than a month and already the wireless chime stopped working. Powers on but it no longer pairs to the door bell. Reset it a bunch of times and it still doesn't work. Reolink support responded through amazon and said they will send my a replacement chime. We'll see how that goes. I don't like the fact that it cant be used with my existing mechanical chime. Its not impossible.

So normal motion and doorbell ring notifications will work with no subscription cost? (Only the snapshot image will cost?). Great video as always!!!
