Guido, I remember the first BMW I ever owned, a 1979 E21 323i. Compared to other so called "Sports Cars" of the time, the 323 killed them dynamically. In fact, other vehicles with greater horse power, couldn't out perform the Bavarian over a point to point circuit. The BMW would carved it's way through corners, accelerated like lightening (late 70's), and felt like it was made from a solid billet of steel, whilst travelling on rails.
Over the years, I have been fortunate to have (additionally) owned an E30 328 sedan, and a E46 330ci. The BMW 6 cylinder Motors are Always the Deciding Factor for me! They just Love To Rev, are Turbine Smooth, just a Mechanical Symphony of Sublime Noise, and
BMW are the Masters of Engine Design and Construction. When added to a 50/50 weight distribution, you have the receipt for maximum fun, at quiet illegal speeds. These cars seem to follow your minds eye through corners, I could easily double (+) any indicated speed advice for a corner.
Performance is always substantial, so unless you really want a race car for the road (M3 M4), the 3 litre 6 cylinder Motors are simply Perfection, and more than up to any high speed winding/straight road blast...Feel Good Factor is over 200%.
I have never regretted any BMW Purchase, have Never Had any Warranty Issues, and the cars always Exceed my Expectations for Build Quality, Fit and Finish, Attention to Detail.
So If anyone wants a reliable refined exceedingly fast, comfortable mid sized sports car, get yourself the new 340i M Sport, you will not be disappointed, if my experience with BMW is anything to go by.
My only caveat is, that you have oil / filter services, carried out between each indicated interval. It's only $100+ odd dollars, and well worth it.

love the m4 and glad that bmw has gone back to the 6 cylinder twin turbo also, the looks are absolutely breathtaking mixing both modern and hints of old school beasts of the past.
I, m also a fan of the manual gearbox as gives you 100% control of gear shifts without relying on computers to do it for you.

Just bought an E92 330I and concur completely, the six cylinder engines are just sweet - smooth and free revving. Didn't want the 335i as turbo's not necessary for my style of driving. It's my first bimmer but hopefully won't be the last.

Great review Guido! Funny enough at the end of the video when you said you downsized from a 3 to a 1 series for the smaller size and agility and you prefer manual and instantly I thought you might even love the M2 more than the M4. Looking forward to your review of the M2! :)

Finally! Thanks for the review Guido. I concur with all of your statements.

The dct settings came in handy for me when I was on track in a torrential downpour. Slowest setting allowed me to be floored all the way up to 140mph. While the hardest setting would cause it to step sideways all the way up to 4th gear. Not to mention the chassis does such a great job at being neutral and putting down the power effectively. I'm already within a second of my 997 gt3 on Michelin pss times. But it's no replacement for the gt3 :)
