You deserve way more subscribers. I’ve seen fewer people on YouTube make such good quality book content! Keep up the good work 🤍

Burial Rites is such a quiet, unsettling novel. It's been maybe 4 years since I've read it but I still remember how unsettled I was while reading it.

My. That is an emotionally heavy list. If you need any light, but still educational reads after this, Sarah Vowel is both a comedian and history buff who seems (to me, another history buff) to do pretty good research and who peppers her history books with sarcastic humour and the opinions of friends and other people she encounters during her research adventures. Her audiobooks (or at least the Lafayette one I just finished) are read by a combination of herself, and a cast of other readers playing different characters.

I quite enjoyed the 2019 version of Little Women so I’ll definitely have to check out the screenplay.

Drive your plow over the dead sounds really interesting and it's such a pity that it wasn't a hit. I definitely need to try out Rick Riordan's books as well as his "presents" line because they all sound amazing! City of Brass is another one that I want to try out. You really didn't have the most amazing reading time with this selection of books! The rape of Nanking is one that I think I need to read, to educate myself
Jeez this comment was long, sorry haha

I love stream of consciousness, but I genuinely didn’t enjoy drive your plow over the dead... I had the same sensation that the book had way to many scenes that didn’t have any purpose and even that those scenes intention was to mislead the reader over who the murderer was, that the woman was misleading not only the police but me as well, and honestly... I didn’t like that feeling at all. Also, there was so much about astrology that was really meaningless, the book annoyed me immensely... and I don’t think it was because of the stream of consciousness, as I generally love books with that style!
