Boss pedals are under-rated. In a world of $500 boutique pedals with 10 knobs, a $100 pedal with 3 knobs is refreshingly simple.

Blues, classic rock, punk rock, alt-rock, any type of lead guitar, and stoner metal fuzz are just a few of the uses I've found for this pedal, and its usually the best pedal for the job. I have a collection of dirt boxes but this one stays on my board.

BD-2 will always be a staple on my board after a TS-9. The TS-9 and BD-2 Work so well together.

The Blues Driver is such an amazing pedal. It is very versatile, from metal, to blue, to country rock, and works great with slide as well. One of the best pedals anyone can buy.

Damn that riff on that cool guitar with the fade at the end sold me on the bd2. Thanks!

I needed that disclaimer, yes that is the bd2 doing crazy metal tones! Love it and this channel. I just bought one today, LoL. I'm a huge fan of this channel

The Boss Blues Driver although noted as a classic pedal NEVER gets the credit it deserves. It is very versatile and I find the tone control on this pedal to be very useable. Even when cutting the tone control on this pedal all the way off it still retains clarity versus some so called better pedals that just turn to mush. They also provide more gain on tap than most people realize. They can be very transparent and even can be useful as a booster pedal with the gain set low.

I'm a home/living room player (for context) and the Blues Driver is probably my favorite pedal- slightly edging out the Boss Hyper Fuzz FZ-2. I mainly play traditional, Blues based metal and doom metal. Black Sabbath, Danzig, Pantera, Metallica, Electric Wizard, that sort of stuff. The Blues Driver is really great to get a Tony Iommi/Black Sabbath or Danzig type tone. Playing those old, heavy riffs is simple and never loses it's fun and this pedal makes it spring to life. A great, great pedal.

The Blues Driver is my favorite overdrive pedal. Got one about ten years ago and it’s definitely the most versatile overdrive on the market. It can cover a lot of tonal range and the the drive control really covers a lot of range from clean boost, crunch and full on distortion

This was my first pedal i got last year, got it for around 20 bucks. Been collecting dust the last year but watching this video is making me take it out and im gonna start using it. Don't know anything about pedals, so this was the perfect video for me. Thank you!

Robert thanks for another great demo. I have been wanting this pedal for awhile. Thx for making a point to show how versatile it is.

Dude, that was a killer blues riff. It sounded like a Chuck Berry song it was killer! I love how you chose the Strat single coil pickups to get that sound with the blues driver. Spot on brother, and of course you always come up with a killer rock and/or metal riffs, this was a great little Sunday video. Awesome demo of a Boss BD-2. Thank you Robert.

Definitely, for od or boost preserves bass. I don’t own waza version but hear good things about that series

Thanks, for the video. My wife bought me a used Blues Driver and I love the sound for that Blues Rock sound. It is a great pedal that I think doesn't get enough use.

For those that love to chug I would recommend the md-2. I would say it’s as versatile as the bd with the added bonus of really enhancing the bottom end.

This pedal is an excellent stompbox for the reasons detailed in this nice video. I would not say that this pedal does not get the credit it deserves. Indeed, there are several videos on YT that are very positive about it. That said, guitarists are generally in a permanent quest of the ultimate sound and, sometimes, rather snobbish about their choices. Therefore "standard and affordable" pedals tend to be somewhat overlooked regardless of their true value. It is a complete other topic but, for instance, Yamaha guitars are surely good value for our money (and in some cases excellent guitars) but... They struggle to be recognized for what they are: good affordable guitars

Was just goofing around with a blues driver today using a Super Overdrive in front to boost it. Yes Virginia, it does gain stacking very well. Nice and beefy. Andy Timmons used a BD with his volume knob for his clean tone. Dan from That Pedal Show is a long time user. You’re correct Robert, this is an often overlooked and underrated gem.

We were blown away by it when we did a side by side Boss Drive pedal comparison of all their in production models. It was LOUD.

I have a BD-2 on my pedalboard to this day for exactly this reason. It is incredibly versatile. The noticeable boost in treble is great for wooly sounding guitars, or you can roll the tone back if using a single coil equipped guitar.

I should add that like every other Boss pedal, it is built like an absolute tank.
