History Channel has just launched an exciting new series in which they pit 10 survivalists against the wilderness, in a head to head competition to see who can survive the longest on Vancouver Island.
After watching the premier, Mrs. Beach and I realized that we wanted to share our thoughts about the how, and see what everyone else is thinking too!
So please, message us, or comment on your thoughts about this episode, or after next weeks episode, send a message or comment!
The best comments could be mentioned in next weeks commentary!

What a cool video. You guys wouldn't have taken the bow and arrows? Seems like a good way to hunt. Look forward to the next one.

In the last month in British Columbia, first we had a woman lost in the bush who survived for 9 days wearing only a shirt, shorts and flip-flop.
This yesterday a couple came out of the bush who'd been missing for a week after going on a day hike. They'd been given up for dead.

And guess what? They didn't know they were going to have to survive for a week or more on nothing and did not have a list of 10 items  to bring!

From those contestants that are talking they said they could pick 10 items out of a list of forty.   They have not make the list of forty items public yet but apparently some were really off the wall.  Items that could be taken and not counted in there ten included their clothing, bear spray, a 5x7 and 12x12 tarp, a sat phone, a headlamp and of course all the camera gear.   The items on the list were maximums, like a1qt pot could be taken in place of the 2 qt pot.

The list of items they could choose from was 40 things in total. But they won't release the full list

Josh obviously posed a bit on his resume. I'm sure he thought he could do it but obviously had no experience or knowledge of predator animals or wilderness.
