Fun facts: I was born and I still live in Forli', no joke. City still exists and it has like 120k inhabitants. It's a really nice and relaxing place, though young people find it extremely boring due to the lack of nightclubs, night life and stuff like that so they leave for other bigger cities, I don't really mind tho, never liked night life anyways. My bias made me spend an unhealthy amount of time in in-game Forli' without EVER killing a guard, I just KOd them with punches or ran away if I could. I unironically spent more time there than in Venezia and Firenze combined.

Remember the church with the big tower in Forli'? It's called Abbazia di San Mercuriale and it still exists to this very day in Piazza Saffi, the heart of the city, it's still used for prayers too. You'd think they would make a 1000 year old building into a museum or something like that but no, it's still there for Christians. I live near the church and the sound of its bells at 7 in the morning every Sunday is EXTREMELY nostalgic to me, I love it so much. If you visit it, you should take a look at an old and small murales on a side, with a lot of photos in black and white and names of people that died 80 years ago. Those are the Partigiani of Forli', people that gave their lives fighting and protesting to defend Italy and the city from Nazis and Fascists in WW2. I know a lot of people (myself included) still visit that murales to this day, and I think it's really sweet keeping their memories alive, most of them were men and women around 20 to 30 years old. I would link a photo of that murales but I did not find any picture of it on the internet, which is kinda weird, maybe I did not look well enough, I'll add it if I ever find it tho.

Remember the fort on the edge of the city, the one where we fought the Orsi brothers? It also still exists to this very day but they sadly made it into a prison centuries ago. It still has medieval aesthetics from the outside, with weeds, trees and even vegetables (that probably come from seeds contained in bird shit, mostly pigeons) growing on every side imaginable, and then there are modern doors with bars inside, which I think is a massive waste. A place like that should be a museum, open to the public and all but nope, they let it to prisoners who probably scratch the cell walls all the time, not caring about a historical monument, and it honestly pisses me off so much. 20 years ago, back when I was more or less 3 years old, they started building a new and modern prison in the countryside where they can put prisoners and empty Rocca di Ravaldino (the fort) from its current ones while making it into an actual museum, somehow they're still building it to this very day tho, yes, Italian bureaucracy can be REALLY slow sometimes unfortunately.

Remember the stone walls and gates that surrounded Forli'? They do not exist anymore, the Forlivesi got rid of them at the start of the 20th century if I recall correctly because there was no need for them anymore and they wanted to expand the city, but they did leave one gate and a piece of wall near Ponte (bridge) di Schiavonia that is above river Montone (Same river that caused a MASSIVE flood in the city and 7 BILLION EUROS of damages in May 2023). Look it up if you want, it's called Porta Schiavonia and it's there mostly for decoration nowadays, pigeons love sitting on it and it's fun watching them, at least for me, people complain about them A LOT tho. Here's a link if you're interested, even tho it's written in Italian, no it's not a scam,

Caterina Sforza has like 2 streets named after her and that's it, you'd think they'd make a statue for her but nah. People here literally do not know who she is, at all, it's just sad, considering how much she did for this place. The Municipal Palace (which ALSO still exists just in front of the church tower in Piazza Saffi btw, hosting the mayor's office) dedicates streets and statues to some politicians, writers and artists that were born and lived in the Romagna region throughout the centuries, but completely ignores Caterina Sforza, a true symbol of the city. They have the perfect opportunity in their hands to make something dedicated to her while also empowering women (hot topic nowadays) or something like that, but they don't care. Again, very sad.

UPDATE, 24TH OF APRIL 2024: Caterina Sforza's fortress has been open to the public for like a week now, you can visit it anytime, it's free too.

Pure genius. It fits the "dark secrets of medieval, renaissance Italy" perfectly.

The Black Death must have been the most horrific yet gloomy time to live. All the paranoia and death and suffering, thank god the Renaissance was right around the corner

Forli is like the Acre of AC2. Dark and filled with tragedy, giving off a strong feeling of death and emptiness

Riding my horse through the grey wetlands of Forli with this music... chills for days.
Kinda reminds me of some of the ominous, creepy quests in The Witcher 3

Everybody talking about when this song appears at Forli, but... Does anybody relate it to the loading screen of the final mission?
The piano part of this theme starts playing while you see the Animus building up Saint Angelo's Castle and the Vatican, seeing a message that says "Rome-1499", during a foggy day, knowing that you're about to kill the most important person in medieval Italy and Europe, head of a movement that is followed by millions (Catholic Church). I don't know how to explain, but it's like it gives you the feeling that you're so small, and you're doing something that will change history and mark you for the rest of your life.
Just 10 seconds of that theme with that images can give you chills.
Sorry for my English

This song is really making me think about how insignificant my life is and that some day it will all be over, just another soul gone in the universe forever

There's a plague which cannot be cured through medical arts alone, and that is conflict — particularly how we humans conspire against one another instead of working together.

Kinda gives off a sick, disoriented vibe, doesn't it? Like the illness they had made you see the world in slow motion.
