The most perfectly cast actor in Hollywood history. Man was born to play Superman.

He will always be my Superman. Christopher Reeve was the guest commencement speaker when I graduated from college in 2002. He gave an inspirational and rousing speech about triumphing over adversity, never giving up & never losing hope when things look at their bleakest and always keep pursuing one's greatness & dreams....I even got to talk to him personally for a bit and had my picture taken with him and his wife Dana (who was also with him). May they both rest in peace. 😔

When the comics started drawing Superman to look like Christopher Reeve..thats when you realize he didnt play Superman, he is Superman.

Rest in peace, Christopher Reeve. He was the most iconic Superman, and it's inspiring that he continued to take roles after his paralysis, notably in Smallville and Sesame Street. He'll be forever missed.

Christopher Reeve is to Superman what Adam West is to Batman. Heroes to us all.

Christopher Reeve was Superman, both on screen, and the way he handled the end of his life. Rest In Peace.

I loved how his Superman movies ended with his breaking the fourth wall and smiling. It was very reassuring. I always wondered why subsequent movies didn't copy this, but I realize only Christopher Reeve could pull that off. My Superman forever.

He will forever be my Superman. My earliest memory is watching the Superman movies with a red towel around my neck and my mom beside me.

Reeve was a legend of man that will live in our memories well on past our own lifetimes.

You know a guy has lived an unfairly short life, when you’re own grandparents have not only outlived said guy, but were also alive on the day he was born, and alive on the day he died. Because that’s exactly what both of my grandparents have been able to do. And they’re both still alive today. R.I.P Mr Reeve. He was taken from our world far too soon.

It speaks volumes that in all the years since Christopher Reeve's debut as Superman. His portrayal is still the one that all the ones that came after are compared to. I saw the original when I was 7. He will always be Superman. I also have the original theme music on my gym playlist. One of the most inspiring soundtracks ever. RIP❤🙏

Watching that first Superman movie in 1979 in a big cinema as a 10 year old German boy was a really memorable experience back in the days. Christopher Reeve was my admired "hero" for a long time, he was the perfect "real life image" of that Superman from the comic books. Later on I was very sad about his accident and then his death. I will always remember him, may he rest in peace.

Over the years, hearing about the progress he'd made...blowing doctors' minds with everything he did...there was no doubt in my mind that if he had beaten that pressure injury he would one day. I truly believed that if anyone could get up and walk again it would be him.

Besides being a great actor and the best Superman ever…
He was probably the most vitally important SUPERHERO actor of all time.
Which - when you think of how big a part of Hollywood that genre is right now-
makes him nothing less than one of the most influential actors of all time.
Because he was the very first to take it seriously and really honor the source material.
And by adding his own charm, humor and pure likability - he gave every single actor that played a Comic Book superhero who came after him
a virtual BLUEPRINT of exactly how it should be done.
All of them owe him a great debt!

Damn it!! There goes the waterworks again. Well written guys. He will always be a true "Super" "Man" to me. The impression he made on me as a child and growing up was profound. Like Robin Williams, the mold was broken when these guys were made! RIP SuperMan

The one and only Superman as far I'm concerned. Thanks for enriching my childhood, Christopher Reeve!

He wouldn't of lived as long as he did without the love and support of his wife Dana Reeve. She showed as much courage as he. Rest in peace to both of them.

You were taken from us too soon, Mr Reeves
But we will never forget you, or your legendary portrayal.
