So I decided to sell my Minimax, in fact have now sold it, and just before boxing it up I decided to have a quick play and compare it to my Studio Electronics SE-1X. Big mistake! I'm now regretting selling!! :(

My Creamware Noah Ex has the minimax, odyssey, pro 1, prophet 5, vocoder, drum machine, lightwave et on it .
Still stands up after all these years.
Selling though because too many synths.
But it was ahead of its time.
Especially the odyssey.

Yes you hear stepping when sweeping through resonance on the other unit.
Whereas the minimax is butter.

Always thought the Creamware emulations sounded fairly decent and this kind of helps make that point. One of the products from Creamware that found new life was their B3 emulation, which was expanded a bit and improved as the Ferrofish B4000+ clonewheel module (which, coincidentally, I'm about to sell). And yes, diving back into gear you're about to sell does often elicit seller's regret.

I love mine. I have it for poly mode. Sounds more like a Memorymoog than the Trigon does.

Creamware did brilliant stuff. Sonic Core lives on! Would never part with my Noah EX or Scope DSP cards..

Absolutely love my Minimax ASB. Paired with an ATC-1x they keep all of my MOOG analog gas at bay!

I was shocked to hear the steppy filter of the SE 1X. It’s worse than the SE 02 filter. That’s wild

I've got a Minimax Klangbox, and it sounds good, but the utility of that ASB interface really makes the instrument.

The filter, mainly resonance is better on the minimax then on the John Bowen Solaris (even as it has to be the same).
But I sampled Minimax and sell it 1 year ago.
I compared it to the softube emulation and se code8, I had no reasons to keep it except interface and nostalgia ;)

I owned the creamware unit, back when I owned everything in the world (within reason). Anyway, it was a ball and built like a tank, as I recall.

Wait a second, is that the same Creamware that made the Pulsar DSP cards and software? Because I still own the large DSP board that at one time replaced everything I had in my studio because it was so powerful. Too bad it eats dust (in a proper case) since ages :(

Something I regret not buying back then.
I had a full Creamware Scope system and NoahEX too, so I thought it will be a duplicate to own the ASB.
Silly me, I should've bought the Minimax ASB!

It's been a long time since I thought about Creamware stuff... Back in the day, I thought they were interesting, but never had the opportunity to play with one. Today I really wouldn't consider one except as a curiosity, whereas I still use my SE stuff, or fire up the OG Minimoog if I really need the authenticity or just want the workflow.

The Minimax does the job fine, especially for the money. I had a Pulsar card and still have a Plugiator.

Very very very tempting.
I will divorce myself if I buy any more and you are so brilliant at demonstrating it.

This is the hardest Lent I have done in a while thanks to you.
Lol 😆.

Thanks for the demo .
I will have dreams about those synths now.

i feel the same way about the oberheim xpander and arturia m12. pretty much my go-to vst synth. well, and noise engineering.

Can this bad boy be used as a controller ? would love to use it as so for my virutal synths (not moog only) ?
Great video as usual, and yep the steps i heard on the rack isn't that great but overwall, the racks is punchier and more solid as a real moog imho

Let's not forget folks, the Minimax is a 12-note Polyphonic Minimoog. No other Moogs other than the Memorymoog & the (dull sounding) One can do this.
