When I started this project, nobody had made a Sonic CD themed animation for this meme, which is just a missed opportunity, considering the song and all. There's probably some out there now, for all I know.
This took so long to finish because I kept giving up on it, but I decided to finish it once and for all. I can say that I definitely missed making animations to share on YouTube.

This is short but actually really meaningful in my eyes. It really talks about how metal isn’t just a robot programmed to hate Sonic and everyone and just fight them. It could be the Metal Sonic theory, or just a bunch of jelousy. I mean, imagine just looking at your reflection one day to see that you are made of metal instead of being organic like every ‘real’ living being. I feel like metal shouldn’t be recognized as a robot who is really bad and evil who hates Sonic and his friends. In his eyes, Sonic is a organic copy of him. The way he keeps in saying that he is real and Sonic is not shows that he might have an obsession with being the ‘real’ one. In the IDW comics he also helped Sonic in the metal virus. If metal really hated Sonic, then it would be to the point where he wouldn’t even help Sonic and continue to try and defeat him. That’s just my theory though, please correct me if I got something wrong about the IDW comics!

Honestly kinda sad that Sega hasnt yet made a character arc or at the very least explored deeper into the concept for Metal Sonic. Just the fact that he doesn’t understand that he can be his own person, and is jealous (maybe even insecure) that Sonic is “better” than him seems like such a good opportunity for a character arc, but I guess we’ll have to wait until this can happen
