Book Review | Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman

Here are my thoughts on the novel Thunderhead (Book 2 in the Arc of a Scythe series) by Neal Shusterman! I kept saying Arc of Scythe for some reason. Oops. Let me know what you thought of Thunderhead or Scythe!

AGREED. EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT and OH MY GOSH I CANT BELIEVE PEOPLE SKIPPED THE INTERLUDES IN BOOK ONE. THEY WERE FANTASTIC. they're so necessary! BLASPHEMY!

I just finished the book and I can't contain my emotions. THAT! ENDING! I'm with you. I hate cliffhangers but somehow it worked and almost didn't annoy me here. Well it annoyed me when the island went down and I realized it's a cliffhanger, but what the author did afterwards was brilliant. The scream... i had goosebumps. And Thunderhead finally speaking to Greyson... it suddenly became dusty in my car. I was listening to both books in the series on Audible and narrator did such a great job. I never had a problem realizing whose point of view it was. I need book three yesterday!

The sacrifice made by Scythe Curie, I just can't put into words. What she did just made me break, just a little. The way it ended was so resolved, so unpredictable, so agrivating I might say. How one man's manipulative actions killed, almost effortlessly, the most powerful people in the world and the powerlessness of the Thunderhead stated throughout the book creates a deceptive, beautiful weaving of plot and literature. This story might rival my favorites of Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. Truly, a masterpiece to be remembered.

Okay why didnt i realise that the relationship between greyson and the thunderhead was similar to jesus and god?
God sent his only son for a mission to save humans
Like thunderhead sent greyson on a mission to save the people who could save the scythedom!!! All i hav to say is wow.

My son just got "Scythe", and he has been so engrossed in this book. He said it because it keeps him interested, there are no slow or boring parts to get through in this series. Ordering "Thunder Head" today. Thanks for the excellent reviews.

I listened to this and the first book back to back at work and I’m absolutely in love!!! Your review is spot on. And I loved how you were able to summarize the concepts I don’t it hard to explain because I’m so excited about all of it lol. Anyways I can’t wait for another it’s good!!!

Totally agree, I read EVERYTHING in both books and loved every letter in every word in every sentence in every paragraph in every view in every chapter of both of theses ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE

God. This book was so good. I picked up Scythe at target because the cover caught my eye and I couldn't put it down. I'm not a big book person, I'm very picky, so for that to happen was awesome. Thunderhead came with so many twists and turns, it had me doing the same while reading it. Need #3 now Neal!!!

Bit late to the series, but honestly feel like I got into them at the right time. Book 4 is at the end of the year and I JUST finished Thunderhead. Holy crap that ending. My only real issue will be how Tonists react in the next book, but excited nonetheless. I mean WOW. The Thunderhead is not messing around and I can't wait to see how the third book goes, will have to buy that tomorrow now!

I absolutely loved this book, and the first one... I just finished thunderhead and it was AMAZING just like scythe.

This series is on my to-read list. Recently finished Iron Gold and ordered 5 books from book outlet to add to my ever growing to-read pile(s)!
