2021 Blue Angels SUPER HORNETS (January 9th)

These guys have the best job in the world! As a kid, back in the early 90's, we lived near an airport so whenever they had their summer airshows everyone in the neighborhood got front row seats. And it was awesome. Blue angel pilots would fly by so low, slow, and close that you could see the pilots waving at you, often giving us a thump up as they flew over. The times surrounding those events are some of the best memories I have of my childhood.

I love it that the Blues upgraded to Super Hornets now. Much louder and more powerful than the previous versions of F18C, F18D etc.

We didn't have the F-18E's when I was on the USS Kitty Hawk. The F-14's were still in use then. Two great aircraft. Glad I served when I did, good times great memories.

met the Blues team from about five years ago. I was director of communications at an air show they performed at. Couldn't meet a nicer group of young men. And women. Captain Katie was with them and flew Fat Albert. Serious about their craft. And damn good at what they do!
