How much did it cost for dental work in Ajijic Mexico. New dental crowns, whitening, and a root canal. Stories about retired life at our project home in the mountains of central Mexico, our USA travels in our 40' Monaco motor home, or whatever else is on my mind today.

I just had my teeth cleaned yesterday here in Aguascalientes, it cost 200 pesos (10.67 U.S.) and they did a great job. I love Mexico!

I went to a dental school in Yucatan. 4 root canals, 4 extractions, x-rays, 4 crowns, and upper and lower partials for a grand total of $ 600 USD. Took approximately 8 months!! Saludos.

I was just quoted $3000 for a root canal and crown. As it turns out by the time I made a decision my tooth died and I ended up having it pulled for 350 instead. I'm so mad now. Americans are being screwed over by the dental and medical field. I want to move to Mexico now.

Your teeth look amazing. I had a root canal in April by a dentist in Florida. He broke through the root and laid the filler on my jaw. Cost me $2, 500. 4 months of pain and multiple excuses and multiple dentists later, I still had the infection, it destroyed the original tooth and the tooth behind it. Had to have both extracted. Now I have to have 2 implants! US dentists are ridiculous!

We have used Cancun Dental by Ocean Dental. The price for 2 round trip tickets, Nyx hotel with breakfast buffet, right on the ocean and all 4 implants ant 1 root canal was still much LESS than HALF the price we were quoted in Houston! Cancun dental is absolutely awesome and better equipment than the dentist uses in Houston too. Not to mention beautiful City, attractions, and was pampered like "Rock stars"! Cancun Dental is 1 800 278 3215. Dr. Irma speaks 3 languages, trained in the United States and her team of doctors are Highly trained and people come from all around the world to see her and perfection work.

Dental work in Mexico is AWESOME!! Last month we went to Puerta Vallarta and got dental work done (3 crowns, a bridge, 2 cleanings) a couple of free extras for $1250 USD. In the US I was given an estimate for this at somewhere around $5000. So we decided Mexico at Dentalestetic in PV (Dr, Melisa and her team are FANTASTIC). The service was phenomenal, even picked us up and took us back from our airbnb. Fit in 3 appts. in a week. Long story short we are going to PV again in October and are still saving money with the entire cost of the trips! Keep spreading the good news JC travel, there are better ways then to succumb to US healthcare gouging. Elmer and Melissa (soon to be 50 yr old expats)

I have a friend living/retired in Hawaii. She needed hip surgery, in US hospital approx her copay would be $48, 000. She flew to India & surgery, 5 days in hospital care, 10 days convalescing in a private care center was $4000. total.
I have VA/Tricare insurance & it sux. The copays on dental are more than my whole retirement benefits so I just dont go.
Big pharm & medical are slowly killing us retired people.
I too have major spinal issues. I was given a tens-unit but cant use it becuz I have afib & “””” have metal staples “”””dropped into my upper abdomen when I had my gall bladder removed by a military surgeon. The staples are just millimeters from my heart & the tens-unit will heat them
End of my bitch session

Pros: no pain. Cons: no pain, no painkillers. Kidding. Really pros all the way around and very encouraging.

I had 4 crowns and some misc work done in the US 3 years ago at a cost of over $12, 000 US. That was after insurance paid 40%. Health costs in the US have gotten outrageous. Supposedly half go without dental care now.

I like listening to your stories! You have a very calming, relaxed way about you! Is that a result of living in Mexico, or were you always that way?

I live in Guadalajara, dental work here is very affordable, a few blocks from my house there's a very modern, clean detal clinic I flew my mom here and they did a an excellent job at half the price that it would cost in Tijuana, cannot imagine how expensive must be in the U.S

Thanks for the video JC. Your dentist in Ajijic is more high tech and modern than the one I go to here in the states.

I’m here in Ajijic for August, and I’m loving it. Intending to get some dental work done. I’ve googled dentists in town. Sooo, if you’re willing to tell me his name, I’ll consider him. Thanks for all your tips.

Better equipment than my dentist in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Just a few here have that high tech scanning camera. One single crown just cost $1900cdn. Insurance only paid $800cdn. I have plans to drive my truck and 5th wheel to San Miguel. Perhaps PV and then across to Ajijic could be the better choice.
