Fascinating and beautiful to see you systematically working through each step to get to the point of intersection. Mathematical thought is a beautiful thing to see and practise.

answer x=5 and y=5.7
y= log x +5
y= 6- log (x-3) hence
log x+5 = 6-log (x-3)
log x + log (x-3)=1
log x^2-3x = 1
10^1 = x^2-3x
x^2-3x-10=0
(x+2)(x-5) = 0
x=5 and x=-2 hence x=5 (cant use -2)
y= log 5 + 5 and y=6- log (2)
y= approximately 5.7
