Why would you ever pay $500 MORE for a license plate that basically digitally displays your number!?!? Seems rather ridiculous....

If I'm ever a part of the 1%, I can throw away my money on this. And if you own a cell phone and do anything online....Big brother is already watching you.

I like the idea of it. Now if it can be used in color that would be better . Flashing red and yellow STOLEN on your plate would be easier to spot in the event your car was stolen

I find it ironic that the people attracted to the bling factor of this plate are the very people that should not want their vehicle tracked.

Finally a youtube video that calls out this bullshit.

I own one my only downfalls are 1. Right now my location isn’t working. 2. If I move out of state (which I am) it’s only good until it expires unless that state gets the approval.

I wonder how long until it can be hacked so the driver can change the numbers to avoid cameras or throw off police after a crime

What's so bad about regular license plates? Ummm... Nothing!!

Yet, us humans are bored and never satisfied. So let's pay a lot more, risk our personal information, and clutter our lives with more time consuming stuff..??

i don’t see why everyone is scared of the gov having the ability of tracking their phone or car or really anything. like actually unless you’re someone like osama or pablo escabar why would they single you out, and a better question is what are they going to do with the information. i honestly find people that think like this to be entitled because they think that for some reason the gov wants to track them specifically

I just bought one today, I purchased the battery powered plate option there was a promo code DAD30 for 30% off for fathers day. Yes it is a bit pricey but as people buy them they will come down in price, So you can thank me and the other tech junkies that are buying these now, because they will only go down in price I HOPE It's only money right.
I will be filming an installation video for my YT channel after I receive the new digital plate in the mail.

This is a start of tax per mile, I wouldn't advise doing it

The Internet of things is penetrating all fields of our daily life. A digital plate could bring advantages but at the same time, there may be cost and privacy considerations.

I just paid my rplate off and now only pay 75 a year, currently have 2. 1 thing with gps tracking is you get cheaper insurance and 2 you can find your car if its stolen, it even has park mode so if it moves you get a text notification

The answer to a question that nobody asked.

Get rear-ended at low speed and this absurdly overpriced gadget gets smashed - then what?

My main issue is, what happens when you're out of cell range? I'm regularly out in the desert or up in the mountains, where coverage is spotty at best... And since 3G was phased out, my entire town has been without cell coverage at all!

AT&T and Verizon won't even lie to us, they check their maps and just go... huh.

What a nonsense review this was. So most of the reasons for not getting it were to assume the company that you're getting it from is a liar. I have been running a digital license plate on my car for years. Makes registration very simple, and I've never put a front plate on my car. As far as tracking me is concerned, my phone tracks me, every app on my phone tracks me, my car tracks me, seriously? If that's your concern go buy a 1975 Pinto.

As far as your DMV nonsense. It's just that, utter nonsense. The DMV does not have to do anything other than what they already do to give you a license plate. All this is is a digital representation of the state plate that the state has given to you, nothing whatsoever for them to do so learn something before griping about it.

I LOVE my Rplate! Everything is digital, why not have the convenience of a digital plate too? In a few years they'll be everywhere.

Why do we have to pay monthly fee? For amber alerts and other stuff? Our phone does that already. Stolen? Most vehicles have built in trackers. I like this new tech. But we should have the option to opt out for the cellular service. Pairing with your phone and the plate via Bluetooth or wifi to do a yearly registration should do the job and free. (The pairing to register). Do you pay to pair your Bluetooth headset to listen to music? A one time purchase of the digital plate should be the standard and option for cellular service. To me this is an officially approved scam getting consumers to pay the extra service you don't need for a digital licence plate. I had this idea long time ago but did not imagine that some company approved by DMV to include add on service fees on a licence plate.
Good looks yes. Extra monthy fee. F that sht.

Well being that I’ve had one for almost 2 years I am now getting ready to going to my 3rd. plate. It certainly has its flaws. Hopefully soon to figure it out
