As a former 11b, i dont believe this story in its entirety. That said, ive never been big on the fact that this guy came out to publicly take credit for taking out Bin Laden. I always viewed SF, Green Berets, Seals, Combat controllers, Delta, and Force Recon, as "silent professionals". It seems that over the past 20 years or so that reputation has been somewhat diminished by public attention seeking individuals. O'Neil might be the guy who dropped Bin Laden, but there were many others involved who made that possible, and to the best of my knowledge most, if not all of them remain "silent professionals". All that being said, these attempts to generally smear veterans with a broad brush makes me sick to my stomach. It was horrible when they did it to Vietnam vets, and it remains just as horrible when they do it today.

Jack, I totally concur with your assessment on Seal team Rob. I’ve served many years in my beloved Marine Corps, as well as the USCG, and Army. The closest thing to racism was light colored Marine or dark colored.(surely not racist). WE are all brothers and all bleed red.
They want to divide us and keep us watching their left hand while they strike us with the right.

We had no time to be racist when I served back in the 80s

We had light green Marines and dark green Marines and we were all brothers. There was also no tapping out when the drill instructors took you into the whiskey locker. I'll never forget what one of them told the platoon - that he would rather have us hate his guts and come home from battle alive, than go soft on us and have our deaths on his conscience.

That's messed up. Friend of my hubby's was a Seal and had just come home...went out to this bar and this drunk off duty police officer pulled his gun on him and he disarmed the off duty officer and killed him. I would have thought that was self defense but he did time for it, tried to mind his own after he got out but every time he turned around he got pulled over and was branded a cop killer. Ended up wrecking his bike on the highway after a long work day and it killed him. Real nice guy but you could tell within a matter of seconds nobody to mess with. Don't know if that's the reason that off duty cop decided to challenge him or not.

Good on you standing up for manly men. As a single woman, my perspective is there are very, very few real men left (or maybe I’m just not meeting them). I got so sick of dating touchy-feely, overly sensitive, beta men that I stopped dating. It’s easier to live in peace on a homestead by myself than deal with all those liberals! I served four years as army infantryman from 96-00. I can’t recall any racial issues.
