*IN PERSPECTIVE* Normally you would apply for asylum at a US consulate, but many of these folks are asking for asylum AFTER getting caught illegally trespassing, which means they have not been vetting and processed. On top of that, they are still charged for the initial trespassing. All of this means the adult will *HAVE TO BE* detained until fully processed which can take months.

You with me so far??

Now some of these folks come with children. Detaining the children in the SAME JAIL as the adults is NOT SAFE OR PRACTICAL. Keep in mind, many of these adults are not the actual parents of the children they are caught with.

So we are left with few choices...

Lock them up with the adults = DANGEROUS
Release them to who ever is willing to sign for them = DANGEROUS
Release them on to the streets to fend for themselves = DANGEROUS

Hold them in a children daycare like environment until their adult companions are fully processed and verified = RESPONSIBLE AND SAFE

...but hey, I'm willing to hear how you would deal with these poor kids?? O_o

Separating <18 year old children from their parents is wrong. Our President has addressed this by now keeping them together. For decades, we have discussed our problem of people entering the US illegally, with no real action taken by several previous administrations or Congress. I did not vote for President Trump, but he is now taking action to address the illegal immigration.
These "cages" are safer than the long journey every one of these children have taken to cross our border. Give our President a opportunity to correct our flawed immigration policy.
