Space Barber Shop opens with Chinese astronaut having haircut
Показать описание
The temporary barber shop in China's Tiangong Space Station opened as Shenzhou-17 crew members scrubbed up their appearance to give each other haircuts.
On Friday, a video showing Shenzhou-17 crew having their haircuts and washing their hair in orbit was released by the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA), which soon went viral online and drew numerous likes from viewers.
The video showed astronaut Tang Shengjie cutting the hair of his colleague Jiang Xinlin with a smart device. The vacuum cleaner-like device could suck up the discarded hair strands to avoid any potential safety risk to the space station's hardware.
The video also showed the mission commander Tang Hongbo using the special shower caps to wash hair. He put on the first shower cap with shampoo in it and rubbed the hair. And then put on the second shower cap containing water to clean the hair, before drying the hair with towel.
The three members of the Shenzhou-17 crew have stayed in orbit for nearly 50 days, and they have successfully completed the tasks including moving equipment out of the space station for space experiments, managing equipment and facilities, and maintaining experiment facilities for long term science researches.
The three astronauts are expected to spend about six months on the space station.
