Genetic testing is the cornerstone of precision medicine and expanding into all areas of medicine. Accurate genetic testing information is only valuable if both clinicians and patients can understand and use their test results. Genetic counselors are perfectly poised to provide this information to clinicians and patients, but even with an ever-growing workforce there are still too few CGCs in the United States and worldwide to provide genetic counseling information to every clinician and patient who needs it. Additionally, as VUS are reclassified, medical management recommendations change, or new testing is available, clinicians and patients need to be notified in a timely fashion. In this lecture we will explore digital tools that can help disseminate accurate genetic counseling information efficiently and effectively.
