can I work as a loan processor by only passing the 20-hour pre-licensing with a unique identifier only? or do I need to pass the national/state test to be fully licensed MLO in order to do so?

a good processor is worth their weight in gold...a bad one which I get once in ahwile, turns my loans into nightmares and can cause my realtor to stop using me. stressful

Do loan processors need to be licensed in states such as  Florida, California or Texas? Or does that depend on whether they're working as independents or are employed with a broker or bank? thanks.
