Use -1=e^(i pi): x^4 = -9 = 9 e^(i pi) so x = sqrt(3) e^( i pi/4 + i n pi/2) (Since 1 = e^(2n pi i))

let t=x²
t²=-9
t=±3i
x²=±3i
x_1=√(3i), x_2=i√(3i), x_3=-√(3i), x_4=-i√(3i)

yep both x=1 and x=2 are wrong, x=1 would be 1^4=1 which is not =-9 and x=2 would be 2^4=16 which also isnt equal to -9.
