I noticed nothing mention about price.. Defender MSRP 29900.. Ranger XD MSRP 45000.. That in itself is beyond ridiculous. And what do you get for an extra 15k. 1 inch of extra ground clearance. Can change the air from your face to your feet. A power port in the bed. A slightly bigger bed. 1000lbs extra tow capacity and 500 extra payload. And a few other things that in my opinion dont justify an extra 15k. For that kind of money i can buy a small 4x4 pickup, put a 6 inch lift on it with some good AT tires and have WAY more towing more payload more comfortable and be able to drive it down the highway. It is a nice rig no doubt but way over priced.

I have done extensive maintenance on can am and Polaris machines. A former trade that I did for many years I was a master mechanic. This youngster talking about packages is all fine and dandy. One thing he is not talking about is the huge price difference between the two. Polaris $45000 really. My experience the Can am products at least in the mountains of Wyoming hold up far superior to Polaris cheap mostly Chinese parts. If you buy Polaris you are buying a very high cost in maintenance. I for one am finished with Polaris.

Should have mentioned the price comparison. Just think what you could do to the Defender with $15, 000 of add-ons or upgrades.

When I got into the powersports industry about 20 years ago, never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined I'd need to do HVAC training. Crazy how far things have come.
As far as sales go, I can't speak to can am, but at my dealership, all our 1500's, xpeditions, and high end 1000 rangers are either pre-sold or are sold within a few days of being on display. I wish I had the money for one, but I'm just a tech lol

It’s definitely not a fair comparison and a big difference in the price a fair comparison would be a full enclosed cab Ranger Limited, or whatever you call it not the new 1500 which is a very expensive machine. A true comparison would be your lower version and not the 1500. Thank you.

I wouldn’t own another Polaris if they gave it to me!!

So he basically took a 45k loaded utv and picked out all the places that the canam didn’t have upgrades………. Poor attempt at bashing competition.

I will keep my polaris northstar ultimate and when that takes a shit I will buy a jeep gladiator polaris is pricing itself out of the market I have owned 6 polaris rangers and the one I have now is the last one period.

I think it’s funny, Polaris has had endless issues while can am is still out working. I’m buying a side by side, not another truck.

I owned one polaris ranger, never again. It spent more time in the shop than my farm.I l would not have another polaris if it was free. I like Cam Am or Honda. The pioneer transmission is the best and no belt issues to deal with.

You can tell you are very partial toward Polaris 😂, but everyone has there favorites, I’ve owned 1000 ranger xp crew( bought from y’all) and defender lone star crew, both have there pluses, ranger turns a lot tighter, dash is a little nicer, love the gauges, defender alot smoother, led headlight is a easy 50 dollar fix, seats are beautiful, mine has alot more ground clearance than ranger, machine is more comfortable than ranger, ranger does have better 4wd system, hate the visco lock on defender, I do love the climate control single knob on defender, my 2 cents, like both machines

The price of all of these things is crazy. They are priced at truck prices. With no accident crumple zones on trun signals horn side impact bars 75 mph cruise speed ect. If your going to price this high you better start adding some stuff.

Don’t forget to add the Polaris poor quality, poor reliability and an endless recalls.

Should be comparing the defender to a Northstar xp 1000 not the 1500

This comparison is like comparing ford vs Toyota reliability over gimmicks . Ranger makes accessory updates easier that’s it

The can am boys are big mad. Look the defender is great but the 1500 is just a step up. It’s ok

I own a 2019 Ranger XP 1000 Northstar with tracks for the winter. I use it up northern Alberta for work. I have never blown a belt, have changed out 2 for wear. Running tracks in deep snow is a big load on the CVT. I have had multiple clutch problems with it, some where recalls, a couple I had to pay for. Wheel Bearings now have all been changed. 1 rear axle was changed as it was making funny noises in the rear end. The Bushings in the mounts from sub frame to main frame have worn out 3 times. Just changed out the O2 sensor when it wouldn't start last week. In hind site, I should have bought extended warranty. I will be buying another brand next year or the year after. Maybe the new Kawasaki or I would like a Honda if they made a nice cab like Cam Am and Polaris. I work with guys running Defenders on tracks in the winter also. They have there issues too. The Defender does start at -38 C, Ranger is done at -32 C . I previously owned a 2009 Rhino Sport 700. Never used it in the winter due to no enclosed cab, but it was a great machine for 10 years, only replaced battery once, and did the wheel bearing and tie rod ends in year 10. Great machine but the engine noise drove me crazy. Polaris needs to pull their head out of there ass on the pricing of the new 1500, it is Ridiculous.

I have a 2024 Canam Defender, and I'll take it over a POLARIS any day! He forgot to mention the 2 USB's in the compartment in front of the driver, as well as the shorter turning radius of the Defender.
I have owned 3 polaris vehicles, and both of them were NOT RELIABLE!
