IH 574 Tractor - Power Steering Hose Replacement

In this video I show you how to replace a power steering hose on an 1974 gas IH 574 tractor. The process should be similar for both hoses. I also show you where to fill the hydraulic fluid back up at, and where to check the current level. I hope this helps!

Thank you for the great video. I have been topping up the fluid in my IH 474 for a year now but last October it really started leaking bad. I looked at it and thought I would have to take the front axle off to reach that fitting so I put the work off until the spring. Now, the job doesn't seem so daunting so when the weather warms up I will give it a try. Overall, this has been a great little tractor for the past 25 years, saves my bacon when the JD 2140 decides to be difficult(what a lemon that one is!).

Shawn thanks for the video. However my problem does not appear to be a hose leak. It seems to be coming from the fitting to the housing. It is difficult to access. Can this fitting to the housing…:right angle fitting to hydraulic hose be replaced. Have IH 464 which looks very similar to what you demonstrated.

I have a 454 with the same steering and it is a nightmare I can’t understand why they designed it that way and I was told to run one to two gallons over full on the hydraulic oil
