US Customs SEIZED my Liberty Walk Ferrari For RADIATION..

I bought my Liberty Walk 360 Ferrari Modena at an auction in Japan a little over a year ago and got to experience car culture in a different country. Now that my car has reached 25 years, it is now legal to be imported into the US. Unfortunately.. My decision to import by container to protect my Ferrari ended up being an importer's WORST NIGHTMARE.. What are your thoughts on what happened?

I work at an environmental consulting company in SF that provides 3rd party (unbiased) testing of all sorts, including radiation. The port of Oakland is one of the clients that our company has multiple contracts with. The fact that they’re telling you that they CANT have any sort of examination to provide documentation is extremely suspect. My job is literally to conduct these tests and provide the results in an unbiased manner, so it doesn’t make sense why they can’t do it now?

Your intuition is right and there’s some foul play going on. Wish you luck maneuvering through this mane

I feel for you Randy. My M Spec Nur was stolen by a shady importer in Japan, and then got imported into the US. Lawyers in Japan, lawyers in the US, filing police reports, reporting it to different agencies, and still no sight of my car. You have a million times stronger platform than I do. Be sure to keep being vocal about this. If that car disappears, there's no telling if it will ever make it's way back to you. I keep fighting, and so should you!

Lawyer up man! That sounds crazy and dealing with customs and brokers is a nightmare

You do realize that they flagged it as "radioactive" cause that makes it impossible for YOU or your brokers to get near it, or try asking to see the car, anything at all... right? I'm pretty sure your car is already overseas stolen and they're BS-ing you. I'm sorry to hear that.

Im a customs broker, if any shipment that needs to be RTO, consignor needs to approve of it. If they dont it, gets disposed off at destination.
If its subjected to exam by customs, and it fails, there is a paperwork stating if its a full or partial seize by customs.

Any quarantine/ radiation / contamination related matter, shipment gets sent to a external site for exam if it can not be inspected on site. Shipment getting sent to external site does one thing, DECONTAMINATION. Once shipments leaves this site, shipment should be deemed CLEAR and can be imported. Easy as that no grey area. Its either your shipment is CLEAR from when it arrives or at worse, it needs decontamination. Only reason customs will seize shipments if its prohibited. In australia( really strict import/export) there is a certain amount of radiation for a shipment to be deemed dangerous, usually found in defense equipments. Hard to reach amount to say the least. I call BS on this one.

I never export or import through the port of Oakland. I just can’t trust them. SoCal is better.

You're being taken for a ride. We're talking about Oakland here. Your car is as good as gone.

Damn, definitely in an insider job, they’re all getting a cut of what it sells for.

Sounds shady AF.

My friends Lamborghini huracan got stolen at Oakland. His GPS locater was power by the lambos car battery and it died. The last location the Lambo was in the oceans heading towards Dubai.

First mistake was importing it to Oakland Ca. I know it’s in the Bay Area and seems convenient but man it’s shady there everyday!

This is exactly how I lost my s15. It's been 11 years still haven't found it

Don't think you played your hand well. Should've pressed harder on customs. I would've got the police involved and compiled car port stealing evidence and the sus emails from customs to show the police to get the car ceased, so it is out of the port. Then the police or your experts can look over it. Otherwise, nothing beats a good blackmail. That Ferrari needs some love.

I feel like the importer that first helped you is the one that doesn’t wanna let that Ferrari go look into his past see if he has ties with cartel or shady business

You’re gonna get the container and there’s gonna be a Honda Accord in there plus you should always use an AirTag several of them when shipping something like that

This sounds like a whistlin diesel video: “Finding the person who stole my Ferrari!”

You don’t need to think about any more content ideas for awhile, just search for it and document it. Sorry this happened though brother. Smh shady people everywhere

Hey Randy, not sure if you'll see this or if it even helps but here's my experience with the Port of Oakland.

Was looking at shipping some of my cars from HI to the PNW. Had one of them even booked to go to Oakland and planned to pick it up there and drive it home. In talking with one of the reps, we kind of connected in that we were both car guys and he could tell I really cared about my car. As we were wrapping up the booking and finalizing things, he advised me to cancel and book through Long Beach or San Diego(don't remember which one at the time) and felt if my car went to Oakland there was a good chance I'd never see it again. Without giving away too much, my car isn't anything fancy, but it's the only one I ever bought new and I kept it in pristine condition but sadly idiots use for these takeovers now.

Long story short, every vehicle I had to send whether in a container or not went through SoCal and I received all of them. Definitely something sketchy going down at all of these ports I'm sure, and fairly certain a lot of it is tied to guys working there. Really hope that with as big of an audience that you have, someone on the inside will be able to reach out and help you. Best of luck.
