The Netflix film Apollo 10 and a half blasts off to the past, a literal blast to the past. Set in 1969 in Houston, we follow the life of a 10-year-old boy named Stan and the story is narrated by his older self. The film takes place at the time of the infamous Apollo 13 launch to the moon, also known as the NASA Moon Landing, where we get to hear the fantastical journey of Stan's imaginary trip to the moon before the events of the launch. Out of all Netflix Movies, this has to be the most nostalgic of them all.

To make the film even better, we have a star-studded cast including Jack Black, Glen Powel’ and Zachary Levi. But–beneath the surface of this unique film is tons of tidbits and easter eggs that you probably missed during the first watch-through. From Houston staples like Astroworld to real-life NASA connections with the cast, and references to some popular movies–you might just find out your favorite old-time movie got a shoutout in this one–Netflix’s Apollo 10 and a half is so much more than it looks on the outside.

One thing you missed: during the landing scene, everything Stan says is actually dialogue from Apollo Eleven, almost word for word.

Wow! I worked on the shots of the Drive-In. I spent a month around those shots and I didn't made a clew that those were actual known movies on the screen... This is just great! Btw, we had a specific channel, open to everyone in the studio, just to talk about the continuity :)

I loved this film. It was my favorite upon first viewing. It’s sweet and funny and believable. It does help that I was born in 1960!

Good video, the creator mentions product placements but in Houston there were Enco Stations not Esso which was the name Humble used in other states

Let’s go let’s see Houstonians Galveston. Goddamn, it’s good last night. Forget AstroWorld to close down but let’s go Houston the best and if anyone else says otherwise they’re wrong.

Was Jack Black not the star of the Richard Linklater-directed _School of Rock?_
