BUCKLOS FORK USE WITH CAUTION

QUICK VIDEO SHOWING MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE BUCKLOS FORK. I NOTICED THE CRACKS AND REMOVED IT FROM MY BIKE RIGHT AWAY. THESE FORKS ARE GOOD FOR JUST CRUISING AROUND BUT WOULD HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO SPEND A BIT MORE AND GET A DECENT BRAND NAME FORK.

I've shared this. Ppl need to stop buying these. Thx for sharing this.
Some critique: The vid was unessesarely long. So I skipped try it to get to the point.
To me vid basically starts at 3:00

looks like a manufacturing defect because the paint is still in tact, or at least by looks of it

Matt, just curious but do you have air or oil leaking from these cracks? Have you probed the cracks to see how deep they are. Just wondering if it could be the coating on the legs. I agree 100 percent that you should spend a little extra money and get a brand name fork. Safety first.

Looks like cosmetic imperfections from the castings. Cracks goes ALL the way thru. Try to look at it with a 20x mag inspection and white light.

Just from being in the paint industry for a long time. Those “cracks” look like they were there before the paint/ coating was put on. You can see the coating go inside the “crack”. Just an observation. I have used a set of Lutu (bucklos) forks on my last bike and I beat them pretty hard and they held up very well for me. Weird for sure.

Looked like a scratch in the casting mold to me. Definitely not a crack in the material.

Yeah, I noticed mine after I took it apart to see if it had oil in the lowers and of course it didn't, so I thought I'd put a little in. Put it back together, cycled it a few times, and then I noticed oil coming from the crack! These are definitely leaving the factory without being quality checked cause the cracks are painted over.

I ended up going with a straight fork on the aggressor to save some lbs and add water bottle cages. My main issue with the bucklos and similar air forks is they don't have rebuild kits and aren't serviceable to my knowledge plus they are held together all by those two small nuts on the bottom and one is supposed to be the rebound. Bike jumps are fun but Ive cleared 40fters before on 80ccs of japanese engineering I'm not really looking for that same rush on the GT, I ride for distance :D

what did you expect? They're a budget fork for XC use. Anything more and they're going to crack.

Great vid. With something this important I don't mind the longer vid and I liked the blooper. I have this fork. Lotsa miles. Inspected closely, rebound knob dosen't work right. Lately it has been extra flexy. Gonna take off the stickers. I have the Asurion $16 ~ 2 Protection plan / warranty through Amazon if it has a problem. I gotta consider that forward and back flex... Anyone have any experience with that warranty on a Bucklos fork?

Write to them, they might give you a partial refund

I had a bad experience with a Bucklos Factory 32 140mm fork that I installed on my 26" bike. After about 300km in the city, I noticed that I was losing oil from the rebound screw. No help from Bucklos and I couldn't find anything on YouTube to solve the problem. The lower air side screw spins in a vacuum and does not want to be removed and does not want to be tightened again.$#%&*(*(%
To help those who wonder how many milliliters and what kind of oil; 5ml / 80W
