People claming that those glasses are an intrusion of privacy...i dont see smartphones or cameras having any blinking light while they record videos and photos in public....do you see any influencers with their selfie sticks having a light on their phones while they run around the streets?

I think 1 way clear plastic would be the best bet, since it accepts light in from outside, but not out, so both sensors would be reading the same light values.

Thanks for this reveal! Game changer. I tested other methods with covering. drawing a black circle on your finger with black ink works. Or wearing a band-aid with a black circle on the part of your finger easiest to cover. I have brown skin but that didn't work. I will get a tan and test it out :P

Instead of carrying electrical tape ... just use the black cloth that came with Meta. It does the job!

If meta wanted to apply this stupid pro privacy politics why they did their best to miniaturize as much as possible a camera inside some glasses? It's like creating a gun and not enable you to put bullets. Ridiculous

Maybe one way reflective tape would work? The sensor can still see light and you won't be able to see the led since its reflective

You don't need to carry a piece of tape. You just cover it with your finger.
I know that's a real stretch but it works

It is beyond stupid that they did that because if you’re in public, there’s no law that I can’t record you or have to tell you that I am recording you. Literally that light is the only reason I won’t buy those damn glasses.

While I don't like the light, it's a necessary handicap. In all those cases, they have an intended purpose. Whereas cameras like on our phones have a free range of uses and you can abuse that more easily than a body, dash, and security cam. I think people are failing to realize that it's not illegal to use the camera in public pretty much in any country without people's consent (unless stated otherwise like at a concert or private whatever), but it's designed so you can't just easily do that.

I found that you can also stary recording and then block the led after and itll still record.
