I turn a goblet in response to a challenge from my good friend "Robbiethewoodturner" to turn a 16" goblet, luckily I managed 18 3/8".....lol.

Over to you Robbie ;)

Thanks David, support is what it's all about in my book. when I started two years ago, everyone was eager to help, and answer my questions, and I believe you should always try and put back a little as well. Robbie has an amazing talent, and has a lot of expertise to offer, and our community is all the richer for his contribution.
Take care, and thanks for always supporting me.

Hello Mike,
Really great turning especially getting such a long stem in burr oak.
I like the O'Donnell jaws and the Axminster Evolution chuck. Must drop a few hints to my good wife now that Christmas is approaching.
Hearing of Chris, the blind wood turner, keeps things in perspective.
Many thanks and best wishes,
Alan.

Mike you have some serious skills turning that long of a piece without a steady rest. I don't think I have ever seen someone turn a stem that long and thin. Thanks for the video!

My thought as I watched was, "The hands of a Master"... and then I read the comments and see that word used a lot... masterful.
Well done Mike
On two counts... Doing a wonderful job and getting Robbie to do a new vid!
Take care

Crikey Mike that’s a biggin.

Well done. I have watched others turn goblets not as long as yours who have been turning for many years. It must feel good to achieve such a very difficult project. Thanks as well for completing it as Robbie’s clips are great to watch. I think he would have had to put another clip on soon anyway due to peer pressure (LOL). He just wanted to see if you could do it.Thanks Mike it’s great to see our woodturning friends support each other as they do.

Cheers

Mike:  Very nice looking goblet & what a challenge!  I must admit while watching its creation I was anticipating a loud crack followed by bits of goblet here and there.  I'll not doubt you again.  Thank you, as always, for sharing ...

Thanks Kenneth, I only recently got the O'Donnal jaws, and they are very versatile, and I would recommend them highly - they are a set of nesting sizes that can be interchanged.
