Business Owner vs Entrepreneur - WHAT ARE YOU?!?

I had a fun conversation on my Facebook page the other day where we chatted about being a business owner vs being an entrepreneur so I thought I'd bring the conversation to YouTube, because - duh. Do you think there's a different between a business owner and an entrepreneur?

Hey Jessica - I agree with your definition but would like to add a simple, yet significant change. I believe an entrepreneur is never fully satisfied and continually looks for the next challenge and opportunity, even within the same business. I've seen many entrepreneurs who have truly never been satisfied, but they look for the next challenge externally. The sad part is that they may be sacrificing success that didn't come quickly enough for them in the current business.

I feel I fall into the category of entrepreneur who wants to stay within my existing business and find the next challenge or opportunity within it. I've been fortunate enough to be surrounded by team members who are good "operators" and are very supportive of the continue challenges and improvements in our business.

I've decided to add to my entrepreneurial plans by launching my own YouTube channel, similar to yours except from my perspective of looking backwards to share some of my experiences, mistakes, successes, stories, as well as my principles and values. I'd love to get your feedback on what you think of that idea and maybe establish a dialogue to assist one another.

I just learned today that I’m a business owner rather than an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurs are people that risk it all even their own security for a goal they want to achieve, that’s risky.

A business owner man/woman is a person who either stared off as a entrepreneur and now is a business owner and operates as such or a person who has a job and runs a business on the side, this one is not as risky as the entrepreneur... my opinion

What is your risk managements like? Who do you feel more comfortable doing? Racing for clients, advertising or a for sure thing? Coinvent store owner is a businessman they start the day off opening the store, probably a chain paid for the inventory for 3 months invested up to $125, 000.00 but there is no guarantee of the clientele and there is no guarantee of competitive edging. Entrepreneur is all risk your doing the work of 8 people (CEO, CFO, AD team, Marketing team, Product group, R&D, Sales, shipping and receiving) your work load is around the clock until you have a product you can move freely without to much overhead. Good the bad and insane all rolled up into one.

Actually the definition is not that complicated. An Entrepreneur is s/he who initiates any initiatives/projects (it can be a prototype as well) with a vision of turning it into a stable business entity. He always tries to create, innovate through solving problems around us in most of the cases for the betterment. While s/he who owns a business entity is a Business Owner. An Entrepreneur is more creative than the more commercial business owner.

I’ve wondered others takes on this. I just started a business and will refer to myself as the owner of that business but say I want to be an entrepreneur. I have big goals and big dreams that involve multiple businesses. I guess for me it is mindset but also longevity. I don’t feel like I’ve “put in my time” enough yet to be called an entrepreneur today even though I work 60 hours a week and plan on making big moves for future successes.
