For anyone having trouble with "The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system. Power off or reset the virtual machine" you need to change the vm hardware compatibility setting to workstation 10.x. Then edit the .vmx file and add this at the end of the file:

Mine says the virtual machine VMX file is corrupted and it will not let me use it what do I do

which is the min hard disk and ram memory quote I can allocate for "Catalina" cause i don't have all that hard disk to be honest. So i wanna know before beginning all this procedure if with let's say 40GB of HDD and 4 GB of Ram can I succeed or not installing and using it on vmware?
