To simplify what Ben tried to explain in his overly Harvardesque way - trade deficits are very simple. All it means is you're buying more stuff from other countries than they are buying from you. That's it. You buy more than you sell. Done. I have no idea what the hell Ben means when he says "it's an accounting procedure." Well, it's a dollar figure pretty much.

And that is what Trump calls "being ripped off" by other countries, which is pathologically insane.

40 years ago we PURPOSELY GAVE CHINA the go ahead to make all our products over there cheaply, and numerous American companies did exactly that, had their stuff made in China.

Fast forward 40 years later. 95% of what is in Walmart is made in China or in a country in the same region. Now Trump is blaming China for DOING THE EXACT THING we asked them to do for the past four decades. It's beyond insane.
