I remember having a customer who couldn't afford my cake prices and she needed it very last minute. So I suggested something like this to her...and she ended up doing it and sending me pics cause she was so excited about it and thankful for my suggestion. Please Tigga keep decorating store bought cakes.
For many reasons it's a great idea. My grandkids are too old now but I wish I thought of this when one of mine was into watching the decorating of cakes and wanted to do it themselves. The cakes were all baked from scratch and that was an extra stage that made it more difficult. Buying a store bought cake and letting them make buttercream or shop for bought buttercream icing and letting them go wild would have been so much easier for a limited visit.
Watching Tigga's shorts especially the Woman's Weekly Cakes series would have been such a spark for ideas. And you can still buy the original Woman's Weekly Cake Book in opshops sometimes. And now Tigga has a book. (Would have been purchased)
Tigga decorating a store bought cake is really a give-it-a-go to those in a hurry, not confident or just beginning. A blank slate. It's also a cheaper option for practicing on.
Like many have pointed out you might not have the ability to bake a cake for so many reasons and a store bought cake is now an option.

I love watching your videos and used one of your ideas on a store bought cake for my Mum's birthday last year. I have multiple disabilities and it was a perfect low energy option. It meant my Mum actually got a personaised birthday cake, rather than no cake at all. I would never have thought of doing it if I hadn't seen your videos, so Thank you.
