김여정, 북일 정상회담 가능성 또 언급 김정은-기시다 회담 가능성은?

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un sister's Kim Yo-jong said in a statement on Monday that Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressed a desire to meet with his North Korean counterpart at an early date.
For more, we're joined by Dr. Mark Barry.

Thanks for joining us.

1. What's the North's intention by making Kishida's offer public?
Why let the world know about it?

2. Then why does Kishida want to sit down for talks with Kim Jong-un?
To discuss Japanese abductees? What is there to talk about?

3. How likely is it that such a meetup will actually happen? And can Cuba play a role here?

4. What would a Kim-Kishida summit mean for South Korea then?
A big blow?

5. In the meantime, a very senior North Korean official has been meeting very senior Chinese party and gov’t officials in Beijing for the last three days. What's your analysis of this move? What is the North getting out of China or vice versa?

Thank you so much for your insight as always.
We appreciate it.
