Many thanks for the TBTBTW shout out. The Daughters' War is a magnificent book. I met James Logan at Worldcon and have heard good things about The Silverblood Promise, and I loved The Magicians, so I should read more Grossman.

Currently reading I'm Afraid You've Got Dragons and loving the whimsy/lightheartedness of it so far. I've got The Bright Sword on my TBR and previously enjoyed Grossman's Magicians trilogy so I'm excited to read this. Also, now I need to start Lawrence's Library trilogy, so you did a great job hyping that one 👏

Those are some great pics to highlight. I was surprised by The Silverblood Promise too. And Mark Lawrence's Library trilogy is just an absolute banger. I'm waiting on my library to have a free copy of Beagle! Not sure if I'll read the other two as yet.

aww its so great to hear someone mention the Edge Chronicles, those were my fav books as a child! The Illustrator you think of is Chris Riddel and his style is amazing. (Also im putting Blacktongue thief on my tbr now, sounds interesting)

Thanks for the reminder/encouragement to keep going on The Book That Wouldn't Burn. I kinda drifted away about halfway through and haven't gone back in a couple months. I liked a lot of the ideas but it does get really meandering in the middle and now I'm desperately trying to get caught up on Stormlight Archives before Book 5 comes out. I'm sure I'll get through it by the end of the year, it's just so hard to prioritize with so many incredible books coming out this year from series I'm already behind on (I'm looking at you, Sun Eater).

The Book That Wouldn’t Burn was my favorite book from 2023. I think I liked it more that Will of the Many. And enjoyed the sequel The Book That Broke the World. Perhaps not as much as book one. But I’m really excited for book three.
