There is something assuring about buying from a reputable company like Wera. You know that you are getting high quality tools when you decided to purchase from them. The initial cost can sometimes be overwhelming, but the quality will last for generations. In this video we are looking at their mini bit ratchet, I think you're going to like it.

I have this Wera bit ratchet in a Kraftform set with nine bits in a plastic case, and it's a fantastic pocket carry, you hardly notice it's there until you want to use it.

I´ve own the Wera Tool Check PLUS for a few years now, it comes with that ratchet, a small screwdriver type bit holder and a small extension.
An interesting thing is that some of the bits are doubled, so you can have one on the ratchet and one on the handle at the same time.

I wonder how much force the ratchet takes to engage. It’s important for tight corners specifically

I love Wera gear, they're hex and torx drivers are second to none.

Ifixit is really top notch too, and they support our "right to repair"

Is the thumb wheel there from plastic or metal?

Ben,
Very good review. I use the 'Wiha 76889' its a ratchet, extension and 33 bits for $30 round.
I debate myself many time if buy this exact Wera but price gravitate me to the Wiha set. Is quite similar.
Both are high premium quality, Europeans always looking for good engineering products. I use from Wera the 'L Keys'. Hex plus and the Tork Security SS, as well a screwdriver compact combo of 30s bits and for my micro components a full set of micro screwdrivers. Not cheap but is very high quality. From Wiha I had the set of Screwdrivers Heavy Duty and insulated set too. My last tools to mention are the mechanic wrenchs pliers. BEST tools ever had.

Thanks for the review! Is a very good ratchet the Wera. I think is time for Americans brand to start adapting their liens for some EDC kits, if not, foreign brand will take everything.

Will the double sided wiha bits you carry for your leatherman work with this? You say it's not pass through but the leatherman bit seemed to work which makes me think the wiha's will work too.

Thanks

Thanks for the review. You had a lull in your postings for awhile, and was hoping you weren't putting this channel aside. Good to see you back and looking forward to more videos from you.

Oil is really hard on those rubber coated ratchets. This seems to be an interesting alternative.

What's the difference between the zyklop mini 1, 2 and 3? Anyone knows

A really cool ratchet option. I've used wera tools at work and they are very well made. This is one I think I will look into for sure. Great review 👍

Thanks for an excellent and very thoughtful review. I can totally support your view on this little ratchet - it's absolutely great! I've owned one for over a year now (came with one of Wera's Kraftform Kompakt Zyklop Mini sets - yeah, I know, Germans seem to absolutely love the K letter LOL).

I have just one small comment on one of your "wishlist" items, about the extender. It's not bundled with the retail "single" package, it is bundled with some more extensive (and hence more exPensive) packages, however, any off-the-shelf 1/4 hex drive extender would work, so one can easily source one (not necessarily by Wera), in desired lentgh and with other desired features (magnet/retention ring etc). However, there's one inportant note I'd like to make: if you use the extender, most likely it will ruin the compatibility with Leatherman's flat double-sided bits, because most extenders would simply not have enough depth at the female end, to be able to securely lock any double-sided bit, let alone Leatherman's flat bits - in most cases it just won't get deep enouhg into the extender's bit holder end, to "click" in place that little retention notch.

Not an issue for me at all, because I am not a huge fan of those bits, however, for someone who loves and uses them, and wants to use them with this Wera ratchet AND the extender - beware of this potential issue. You'll need a really deep extender to be able to use double-sided bits.

i use the bosch mini ratchet since it's built well, lightweight and easy to place in my multitool sheath since it's thin too.

Hey Ben, have you ever seen or used the Wera ‘Joker’ wrenches?

They have some really interesting features, and for my purposes at the time, the stop plate on the back which would allow them to hold a nut and not have it pass through one side of the open head was irreplaceable.

I need this for putting together Fauk couplings in gearboxes!!

They could easily have the other end be an in-line driver slot. It would be even better!
