Excellent piece of early 60s jazz-pop.

Peter Farrar:- Jack Lawrence composed this parental delightful romantic ballad, "Yes My Darling Daughter." Jack Lawrence hit the 'jackpot' when Miss dynamite Eydie Gome, the queen of swing & bossanova performed this ballad in stunning explosive fashion & ended her performance with an explosive bomb blasting crescendo finnish that nearly obliterated the trumpet section & the entire orchestra. This musical episode will create addictive listening for all her millions of fans. ln my opinion this is the best recording of this music. The superb bossanova theme orchestra was in complete cohesion with the explosive style of Edie Gorme, & together they elevated this musical extravaganza to the blue skies & the stars danced to the bossanova rythmic theme, in a delightful fashion.
Golden flamboyant & a hint of poetry, words by Peter E. Farrar.

I've had this song in my head this morning. Utterly random, I had no idea who sang it but I remember my mum singing the refrain, "Yes my darling daughter" back in the 70s. I can't have thought of it since, I wasn't even sure it was a real song. It just goes to show that we never fully forget anything

What a nice woman, and what a cheerful song!
I even didn't know that this song was quite popular and many times performed by variety of singers - Dina Shore, Andrews Sisters, Jody Miller, Marion Hutton, and even Sandie Shaw!
But what is good in Eydie's version, that's the ending. The voice flying up with trumpets like a siren sound... That was very exciting.

Почему-то мелодия напоминает мне Украинскую народную песню " Ой, не ходи Грицу" в соответствующей обработке.
