Percentage Strength and Ratio Strength Review | Beginner Level

Percentage strengths and ratio strengths are common ways of expressing concentrations of ingredients in a pharmaceutical preparation. Typically percentage strength concentrations and ratio strength concentrations are expressed as weight-in-volume (w/v), volume-in-volume (v/v), and weight-in-weight (w/w) depending on whether the solute and preparation is a solid or liquid.
