Wasn't expecting to see the Alamo and Dr. Crawford crossover today, but a language lesson at the Alamo is pretty cool! Lol

Would it be a stretch Munnin comes from the same root?

Memory in Swedish is "minne", I assumed that it was cognate with "Mimir" and "Munin" (one of Odin's ravens).

Lat. meminī is from PIE. *men-, whence also Gr. μέμονᾰ, not *(s)mer-. Also the origin of Lat. memor (whence memoria) is not universally accepted as being from *(s)mer-.

In sorani kurdish its Bēr or beer so seems like the m sound turned into a b overtime but kept the rest of the root

Old- and modern (Westerlauwersk-) Frisian still uses 'Mimerje(n)', 'Mimering'. ('to remember', 'remembering'). Never knew the root!
