The word 'rosary' comes from Latin and means a garland of roses. The rose is one of the flowers used to symbolize the Virgin Mary. The rosary is a devotion in honor of the Virgin Mary. The Scriptural Rosary centers attention on scriptural passages from the life of Jesus to reflect on while praying the Hail Mary.

Mary (1st c.) was a Galilean Jewish woman of Nazareth, the wife of Joseph, and the mother of Jesus, according to the canonical gospels. Mary has always been a central figure in Christianity right from that moment early in Luke's Gospel when Mary is told "Blessed are you amongst women".

“One day, through the Rosary and the Scapular, Our Lady will save the world.”
- Saint Dominic

“Give me an army saying the Rosary and I will conquer the world.”
- Pope Blessed Pius IX

“Recite your Rosary with faith, with humility, with confidence, and with perseverance.”
- Saint Louis de Montfort
