Timbaland is a real artist.
He is as good as he is a a creator and producer or project manager/director because his personality is so open. He doesn't reject free ideas or having an open creative environment in the studio. That's how it should be in the studio. I remember back in the early 90s working with artist as an engineer where you have a relaxed environment vs someone that was a stern control freak. The music ALWAYS came out better in an relaxed environment.

The original arrangement was working against itself, and it made it more difficult for the writers to write. As a producer, you have to listen and be open to ideas in the room and sometimes those ideas don't work and you have to drop what you know will work without killing everyone elses creative vibes and toe stomping. The amazing thing is that Tim recognized all of that and a simple twist of the drum pattern made everything more easier to write to and come together.
